Jay
Flood was born into a large musical family in Boston and excelled on
several instruments at a young age. He played guitar in bands at UMass
Amherst and earned a doctorate in music composition at UCLA. An
Emmy-nominated composer, he became sought after by Hollywood names for
his eclectic background and electronic proficiency, working with heavy
hitters Harry Gregson-Williams, Hans Zimmer, John Debney, Mark Snow and
others. While scoring his own TV shows, feature films and video games,
he was also called upon to write music for Steve Jablonsky and
contributed to eight number-one box office films (Transformers: Dark of
the Moon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th and others), worked
on several top TV shows (Desperate Housewives, Ghost Whisperer,
Smallville and others) and video games (Sims 3, Metal Gear Solid 2,
Transformers: The Game and others).
